The Action Learning Project

Prior to selection as a Fellow, each applicant or team proposes an Action Learning Project, which is a core activity of the Fellowship program.  A project can address a specific improvement area, introduce new processes or training, or expand an existing change initiative within a Fellow's organization, regional network, or community.  At the onset of the fellowship year, fellows may refine original proposal ideas or move forward with a current action plan.

Action Learning Projects are tied directly to each Fellow's professional and personal priorities, and should be completed by the end of the fellowship year. Fellows will provide mid-year and final reports to their organizational sponsor and/or board, in addition to their Fellowship class.

In general, project goals seek to impact safety culture through education and collaborative leadership, create more cost effective models of health delivery and improve health outcomes. Fellows will able to use and apply the knowledge and leadership approaches gained through the program to support timely execution of their projects and spread of results.
