The American Hospital Association-McKesson Quest for Quality Prize

The American Hospital Association-McKesson Quest for Quality Prize honors hospitals that are committed to achieving the Institute of Medicine's six quality aims, safety, patient-centeredness, effectiveness, efficiency, timeliness, and equity. The prize documents progress in achieving the 6 IOM aims and provides replicable models and systems for the hospital field. The goals of the prize are to raise awareness of the need for a hospital-wide commitment to highly reliable, exceptional quality, patient-centered care; reward successful efforts to develop and promote a systems-based approach toward improvements in quality of care; inspire hospitals to systematically integrate and align their quality improvement efforts throughout the organization; and communicate successful programs and strategies to the hospital field.

All US hospitals are eligible to submit applications. The awards committee reviews the applications and selects finalists for site visits. Winners and finalists are announced and honored at the AHA/Health Forum Leadership Summit held in July.
