 HPOE is pleased to highlight case studies from the Illinois Hospital Association’s Institute for Innovations in Care and Quality second annual Quality Excellence Achievement Awards. In 2012, IHA received 67 submissions from hospitals showcasing their progress in advancing one or more elements of the Institute of Medicine’s six aims for improvement.

Patient Safety Awareness Week is an annual education and awareness campaign for health care safety led by the National Patient Safety Foundation. Each year, health care organizations take part in the event by prominently displaying the foundation’s campaign logo and promotional materials within their organizations, creating safety awareness in the community and by providing educational resources to hospital staff and patients.
