A Curriculum for Successfully Working with an Interpreter

The University of Connecticut's community-based education program collaborated with community partners to develop a curriculum for third-year students that focuses on improving communication skills with a diverse patient population. This curriculum demonstrates that an academic institution can respond to health crises through educational endeavors specifically connected to the community. Participants learn the process, impact and how to develop curricula to address their local needs.
