Rx: Spanish PRN

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy developed a curriculum to address the demographic shift of greater numbers of Latino Arkansans. The curriculum offers the course "Rx: Spanish PRN," a 2-hours elective course designed and taught inhouse by a tenured faculty of Mexican heritage, pharmacy credentials and bilingual expertise since 2004. The focus of the course is interpretation of factors involved in pharmaceutical interactions with Latinos, both verbal and nonverbal cues intrinsic to the culture.
