Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, a division of Wheaton Franciscan Services, Inc., is a Catholic, not-for-profit organization with more than 100 sites in Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois, more than 12,000 employees and approximately 1,578,298 patients served in fiscal year 2011. Their associates, leaders and physicians needed and wanted training to learn more about their patients and how to best meet their unique physical, emotional, spiritual and cultural needs. To meet this request, the diversity andinclusion strategies team took a broad system's approach to developing creative, impactful and low-cost cultural competence education using a variety of delivery formats.
