#123forEquity Pledge to Act

Join more than 900 hospitals and health systems and 30 state and metropolitan hospital associations and take action to eliminate health care disparities. The AHA and four national partners in the Equity of Care initiative encourage hospitals to take the #123forEquity Pledge to Act and work to accelerate achieving the three areas of the initiative’s call to action: increasing the collection and use of race, ethnicity and language preference data; increasing cultural competency training; and increasing diversity in governance and leadership.

Here’s the “123”:
#1: Take the pledge to achieve the call to action’s three areas within 12 months, and start by focusing on one or more quality measures.
#2: Take action to implement strategies supported by your leadership team and provide progress updates.
#3: Tell others your story and share lessons learned.

Visit EquityofCare.org to take the #123forEquity Pledge and view informational videos and other resources. For more information on diversity in health care leadership, visit the Institute for Diversity in Health Management.
