Working Together for Better Health and Health Care

The Chairman’s File columns provide just a glimpse of the excellent work that our nation’s hospitals and health systems are doing. In 2015, it’s been my privilege to serve as AHA board chair and share these inspiring stories about improving all dimensions of care. System transformation requires ongoing transformation and that, in turn, requires us to learn together. As this year’s columns have highlighted, improving health, care and value calls for working with patients, families and community organizations. A shared vision for healthier communities where individuals reach their highest potential for health begins with access, and that requires continuing advocacy. Serving alongside fellow board members and the AHA team assures me that the AHA’s mission, vision and goals for achieving the Triple Aim and “Redefining the H” are in great hands.
