Hospitals Building a Culture of Health

As the U.S. health care system transforms, hospitals are playing a greater role in building a culture of health in their communities. Building off the HPOE/RWJF guide Hospital-based Strategies for Creating a Culture of Health, this webinar features two examples of hospitals that are engaging in this important work. 

UMass Memorial Hospital and the Worcester Public Health Department shows how hospitals can collaborate with local government to strengthen the public health infrastructure to improve community health in the 21 st century. Memorial Hospital of South Bend, part of Beacon Health System, shares their journey of transition from a traditional "sick care" system to managing the health and well-being of specific populations they serve.

Learning Objectives:

1. Align hospital community benefit priorities with the Department of Public Health, and CHNA and CHIP priorities.
2. Build population health capacity using CHNA data to drive and measure the identified, focused initiatives.
3. Improve the health and well-being of a community by building a culture of well-being for employees and their families.
