Engaging Health Care Users Webinar

The AHA's Committee on Research developed the report, "Engaging Health Care Users: A Framework for Healthy Individuals and Communities." The report introduces an engagement continuum—from information sharing to partnerships highlighting best practices from hospitals and health systems in how to effectively engage patients and families at the point of care, in the hospital and in the community while striving to improve quality, service and efficiency. This webinar discussed the findings and recommendations of the report.

Webinar participants include:

  • Moderator: Benjamin K. Chu, MD, president, Kaiser Permanente Southern California region, and group president, Kaiser Permanente Southern California and Hawaii, 2012 chair of the AHA Committee on Research and chairman of the AHA board of trustees.
  • Jed Weisberg, senior vice president for hospitals, quality and care delivery, Kaiser Permanente
  • Christine Abbott, patient advisor, Georgia Health Sciences and Health System, Patient and Family Centered Care
  • T. Nicole Johnson-Boatwright, patient and family centered care coordinator, Georgia Health Sciences and Health System, Patient and Family Centered Care
