Partnership to Improve Health for Children Zero to Three

This HPOE and American Hospital Association Section for Maternal and Child Health webinar is about Indiana's statewide partnership for early diagnosis and treatment of autism, autism spectrum disorder and developmental delay.

To address a national shortage of pediatric developmental specialists and the ever increasing pediatric neurodevelopmental needs such as autism (1 in 50 children), autism spectrum disorder and developmental delay, hospitals and health systems are in search of partnerships to develop a new model of care.

This webinar describes a partnership between Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana University School of Medicine, The Woman's Hospital and other hospitals across Indiana to work toward the goal of driving down the age of diagnosis from five years to 24 months. To meet the goal, these hospitals engage physician offices statewide and provide hands-on training and coaching on diagnostic tools for early screening of children, assist with appropriate referrals and follow up with continuous coordination of care.
