SCOPE Peritonitis and Exit-site Infection Quality Collaborative
The Standardized Care to Improve Outcomes in Pediatric ESRD (SCOPE) Quality Collaborative helps dialysis centers minimize peritonitis and exit site infections in pediatric peritoneal dialysis patients. This program allows participating centers to meet Medicare's Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement requirements.
Quality Collaborative Goals
The long-term goal is to reduce exit site infection and peritonitis among children on chronic peritoneal dialysis.
The 12-month goals are to
- Decrease peritonitis rates by 50%
- Decrease exit site infection rates by 50%
- Achieve 90 % compliance for peritoneal dialysis catheter placements, training, and maintenance care performed using collaborative care bundles
Improve pediatric dialysis team function between physicians, nurses and other team members by a 10-point increase in mean safety culture scores.
