Ponca City Medical Center - Engaging Staff to Improve Patient Safety

Ponca City Medical Center, a 140-bed facility in Ponca City, Oklahoma, used HEN best practices and tools to reduce harm across the board. Hospital teams focus on using patient safety huddles and bedside reporting to ensure transparency. Evidence-based tools were rolled out with rationale to get buy-in from all staff. Ponca prevented more than 600 total patient harms over the course of the project. Ponca City Medical Center was part of the AHA/HRET Hospital Engagement Network.
